The NS, or Name Server records of a domain name, reveal which servers deal with the Domain Name System (DNS) records for it. Setting the name servers of a given hosting provider for your domain is the simplest way to direct it to their system and all its sub-records are going to be managed on their end. This includes A (the IP address of the server/website), MX (mail server), TXT (free text), SRV (services), CNAME (forwarding), and so forth, if you would like to change any of these records, you are going to be able to do it by using their system. To put it differently, the NS records of a domain reveal the DNS servers which are authoritative for it, so when you attempt to open a web address, the DNS servers are contacted to get the DNS records of the Internet domain you want to access. In this way the web site that you will see is going to be retrieved from the correct location. The name servers normally have a prefix “ns” or “dns” and each and every domain name has at least two NS records. There isn't any practical difference between the two prefixes, so what type a host company is going to use depends entirely on their preference.

NS Records in Cloud Hosting

The outstanding Hepsia CP, which comes with our cloud hosting packages, allows you to handle the name servers of each and every domain address registered through our company with only a few mouse clicks, so even if you have never had a hosting plan or a domain before, you won't encounter any difficulties. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, comes with a very user-friendly interface and it will allow you to modify the NS records of any domain address or even a number of domains all at once. We give you the chance to set up child name servers dns1.your-domain.com and dns2.your-domain.com for every single domain registered within the account just as easily and all you need for that is a couple of IP addresses - either ours, if you'll use the child NS to direct the domain name to the account on our cloud platform, or the ones of the third-party provider if you'll use the new records to direct the domain address to their system. Different from other companies, we do not charge extra for providing this additional DNS management service.

NS Records in Semi-dedicated Servers

The name servers for every domain that's registered through our company could be changed with no more than a few clicks using the sophisticated, although easy-to-use Hepsia Control Panel that is included with all semi-dedicated server plans. It's just as effortless to see the current NS records for a particular domain and to check if they are the ones that are necessary for the domain name to be pointed to your hosting account. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, is user-friendly enough to permit you to manage any domain with ease even if you have not dealt with such matters before. If you would like, you may even register private name servers ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com and use them not just for the domain address under which they're set up, but also for any other domain that you'd like to host inside the very same account. This option is very handy if you have clients of your own and you would like their websites to use your own name servers in lieu of our default ones. The service is available totally free.
